Orders, Shipping, Payments & Cash on Delivery Policy
At Miko & Kai, we want your shopping experience to feel simple, transparent, and dependable from the moment you place your order until the moment it reaches your doorstep. This policy explains how orders are placed and confirmed, how payments are handled, how Cash on Delivery works, how shipping is processed, what delivery timelines you can expect, and what happens in situations such as incorrect address details, failed delivery attempts, or order cancellation.
We encourage every customer to read this policy carefully before placing an order, as it forms an important part of the shopping experience on our store.
Placing an Order
When you place an order with Miko & Kai through our website or app, you are submitting a request to purchase the selected product or products. Once the order is placed successfully, you will receive an order confirmation message or notification. However, receiving an order confirmation does not always mean that the order has already been dispatched. It simply means that your order has been received by us and is being prepared for the next stage of processing.
All orders are subject to product availability, serviceability, successful payment or verification, and our internal review process. We reserve the right to accept, decline, hold, or cancel an order if required for reasons such as stock issues, verification concerns, suspicious activity, or operational limitations.
Payment Options and Payment Processing
We offer multiple payment options so that customers can choose the method most convenient for them. At present, orders may be paid for using UPI, credit cards, debit cards, net banking, and Cash on Delivery (COD), wherever COD is available.
For prepaid orders, payment must be successfully completed before the order can move forward in our system. If payment is not completed, the order will not be treated as confirmed. If a payment attempt fails but the amount is temporarily debited from your account, the refund or reversal will usually be processed automatically according to your bank’s or payment partner’s timeline. Since such reversals are handled by financial institutions and payment processors, the exact time taken for the amount to reflect may vary.
All online payments made on our store are processed through secure third-party payment gateways. We do not store your complete card details or sensitive banking information on our systems.
Prepaid Orders and Confirmation
For prepaid orders, confirmation usually happens once the payment has been successfully received. After confirmation, the order enters the processing stage. This stage may include order review, stock confirmation, quality checks if required, packing, and dispatch preparation.
Even after payment, there may be rare situations where an order cannot be fulfilled, such as product unavailability, technical stock mismatch, or logistical limitations. In such cases, if we are unable to fulfill the order, the prepaid amount will be refunded in accordance with our internal process and payment provider timelines.
Cash on Delivery (COD)
Cash on Delivery is offered as a convenience to customers, but it is not guaranteed for every order or every location. COD is available only in selected serviceable areas and may depend on courier coverage, order value, operational constraints, and our internal risk checks.
Because COD orders carry a higher risk of failed deliveries and refused shipments, all COD orders may be subject to an additional verification step before they are approved for dispatch. This verification may happen through a phone call or WhatsApp message sent to the customer using the contact number provided during checkout.
If a COD order remains unverified, is not confirmed by the customer, or appears suspicious or non-genuine, we reserve the right to cancel it without dispatch. We also reserve the right to limit or withdraw the COD option for certain customers, certain regions, or certain orders at our discretion.
If any COD handling or convenience charges are applicable, those charges will be shown clearly during checkout before the order is placed.
If a customer repeatedly refuses to accept COD orders at the time of delivery, such behaviour may affect future COD eligibility in our store. In such cases, future orders may be restricted to prepaid payment methods only.
Order Processing
Once an order is confirmed, it enters our processing stage. Under normal circumstances, orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days. Processing time refers to the time required for internal activities such as order review, payment or COD verification, stock allocation, packing, and handover preparation for the courier.
Orders are generally processed only on working business days. Orders placed on Sundays or public holidays may begin processing on the next working day. Processing time is separate from delivery time. In other words, the time taken to prepare an order for dispatch is not the same as the time taken by the courier to deliver it.
Shipping Coverage
Miko & Kai currently ships within India only. We do not offer international shipping at this time. Orders with delivery addresses outside India will not be accepted or fulfilled.
Shipping Charges
Shipping charges are calculated and displayed at checkout before the order is confirmed.
For most prepaid orders, a standard shipping charge may apply as shown during checkout. For Cash on Delivery orders, an additional COD handling/shipping charge may be applicable.
Any free shipping offer, special delivery charge, location-based charge, or exception will be clearly shown on the product page, cart page, or checkout page before the customer places the order.
The final shipping charge will be included in the order summary and must be reviewed by the customer before completing the purchase.
Delivery Timelines
Once an order has been dispatched, the estimated delivery timeline is generally 3 to 7 business days. Delivery time may vary depending on the destination, courier serviceability, local conditions, and other operational factors.
The delivery timeline shown during checkout or in notifications is only an estimate and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed delivery deadline. While we do our best to ensure timely dispatch and coordination, actual delivery is handled by third-party logistics partners, and occasional delays beyond our control may occur.
Tracking and Shipment Updates
After the order is dispatched, tracking information may be shared through SMS, email, or WhatsApp. These updates help customers monitor the progress of their shipment. In some cases, tracking may take a short time to become active after dispatch, depending on when the courier partner scans and updates the parcel in their system.
Delays in Delivery
Although we make every effort to ensure timely delivery, delays may sometimes occur due to factors such as courier operational issues, bad weather, public holidays, remote delivery locations, local restrictions, high order volumes, or other logistical challenges.
In such cases, we request customers to allow reasonable additional time for delivery. Miko & Kai shall not be held responsible for delays caused by third-party courier services or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Customer Responsibility for Address and Contact Details
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information while placing an order. This includes the correct full name, house or flat details, street or locality, city, state, PIN code, and an active mobile number.
If the address or contact information provided is incomplete, incorrect, outdated, or unreachable, delivery may fail or be delayed. In such cases, Miko & Kai will not be responsible for the consequences of the incorrect information provided by the customer. Additional shipping or re-delivery charges may apply if the package has to be re-attempted or re-shipped.
Failed Delivery Attempts
If a delivery attempt fails because the customer is unavailable, refuses delivery, provides an incorrect address, or does not respond to courier communication, the courier partner may attempt re-delivery according to their own process. However, repeated failure to complete delivery may result in the order being returned to the origin.
Where applicable, additional charges may be incurred for re-delivery, re-processing, or future service restrictions. In the case of COD orders, refused deliveries may also affect the customer’s eligibility for using COD in the future.
Order Cancellation
Customers may request cancellation of an order only before the order has been dispatched. Once an order has been shipped, cancellation is no longer possible, and the order will thereafter be governed by our Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy, wherever applicable.
We also reserve the right to cancel orders on our side in situations such as unverified COD orders, suspected fraud, stock unavailability, pricing or technical errors, delivery serviceability issues, or any other operational reason that makes fulfillment impractical or unsafe.
If a prepaid order is cancelled by us before delivery, the eligible refund will be processed to the original payment method, subject to normal banking and payment partner timelines.
